As the use of the internet increases, and thousands of new websites are created every year, it has become a necessity to learn and have more knowledge and skills of the internet around us. Give your child the gift of life-long valuable skills where they will:

ABOUT THIS CLASS
In this fun and enriching 4-week class, where students engage in hands-on, creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving activities while integrating recipes and foods they love into their websites, as today many home cooks have their own food websites. So let’s learn to cook from scratch and build websites from scratch!
CLASS SCHEDULE
Classes are held once a week for 4 weeks.
Thursdays, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
CLASS OUTLINE
Week 1: Students learn the basics of HTML, and create the foundations of their website.
Week 2: Students learn the basics of CSS, and add design to their website, with their own flare.
Week 3: Students integrate their favorite recipes learned at Lil’ Chef School (or any other recipes) into their websites.
Week 4: Students decorate their cupcake, take a picture of it, and put it on their own website, along with its recipe.
REQUIREMENTS
- Students must use their own laptops/Chromebooks.
- Please make sure all devices are fully charged before class.
- We will be using Visual Studio Code to build our cooking website. Download it here for free. Click on the download choice that fits your device (laptop/Chromebook).
REGISTRATION
The following classes start at the beginning of each month and run each week throughout, with the exception of holidays. To register, choose the month then click on the day you would like your child to attend.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Ms. Ariel graduated from Cal State Fullerton Teaching Credential program. She is a seasoned educator with over a decade of experience working with K-12 students. Ms. Ariel also graduated with an MS in Secondary Education from Cal State Fullerton.
During her research project in her Master’s program, Ms. Ariel discovered the value and benefits computer programming can add to student academic and personal success, as it encompasses similar features of math, critical thinking, problem-solving, and more. This inspired Ms. Ariel to develop a computer programming curriculum for secondary education students.
Ms. Ariel’s vision is to bring computer education to students because of the valuable life-long skills and success it can add to their lives.
