Strawberry Gelato

Yield: 8, 2/3 cup servings


  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1½ cups cold water
  • 1½ cups heavy whipping cream, cold


1. Place berries, sugar, and water into a blender and blend until liquid and smooth.

2. Whip the cream until slightly thick; similar to the consistency of buttermilk.

3. Combine the cream with the strawberry mixture and mix thoroughly until blended.

4. Place in ice cream maker bowl * and freeze according to manufacturers directions.


*Do not overfill your ice cream bowl; follow manufacturer’s directions. This recipe may make too much for your container.

Equipment needed: Measuring cups, Knife, Blender, Ice cream maker, Mixer, Mixer bowl
