Baked Ziti

Serving Size: 8 dinner or 16 appetizers

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) box of ziti or penne
  • 1 (15 oz.) Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
  • 2 Lg. egg whites
  • 4C Mozzarella Cheese
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt, pepper & red crushed pepper to taste
  • 3 ½ C of your favorite Marinara Sauce
  • 2T Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450 digress

Cook and boil the pasta until al dente

In a large mixing bowl mix the ricotta, eggs and 1 C mozzarella cheese until well combined then add the garlic powder and season with salt, pepper and red pepper

To layer

Spread 1 C of marinara sauce over the bottom of the dish, top with pasta and spoon ½ the mixture to cover the pasta and then repeat the process. Finally, top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and cook another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes, then cut and serve.
