Donut Glazes

Servings: Makes about 1½ cups for each recipe

Ingredients

    Chocolate Glaze:
  • 3 oz. chopped unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4-5 Tbsp. hot water
    Powdered Sugar Glaze:
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ¼-1/3 cup milk

Instructions

To make Chocolate Glaze

1. In a small saucepan, combine unsweetened chocolate and butter. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until melted. Remove from heat.

2. Stir in powdered sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla until combined. Stir in enough hot water to make a thick glaze.

3. If necessary, as glaze stands, stir in additional hot water to thin to its original consistency.

To make Powdered Sugar Glaze:

1. In a large bowl, stir together powdered sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla.

2. Stir in enough milk to make a thick glaze of drizzling consistency. .

Equipment needed:

Chocolate Glaze: small saucepan and wooden spoon

Powdered Sugar Glaze: large bowl and wooden spoon
